| NFL: MoJo Gripes Over Role | ||||

Maurice Jones-Drew sounded off about the Jaguars' offense Wednesday, saying it has no identity and questioning coordinator Dirk Koetter's play calling, according to the Associated Press. Jones-Drew also referred to himself as the second-highest paid "decoy" in the league. It is believed that he was referring to Reggie Bush with that comment. Mancini’s Take: Drew’s primary beef was that Koetter abandons the running game when it isn’t working in the early going. Like many backs, the little powerkeg likes think of himself as the type of performer that only gets better with more carries. But here’s the problem: the Jaguar defense is so weak that it allows the opposition to score at will and this forces the other side of the ball to press and throw downfield in catch-up mode. It’s good to see MoJo being miffed about the situation, which shows me that he wants to lead and be the centerpiece of the offense (which he most certainly is). But he has to understand that every game and every week is different in the NFL. Sometimes, you have to adjust how you attack a team when things aren’t going your way. Trackback(0)
