| NFL: Jets Still Looking to Move Thomas Jones | ||||

The National Football Post reports the Jets are "gauging interest" in Thomas Jones and have placed a call to an NFC West club.
The Skinny: The team that the Jets reportedly reached out to is Seattle Seahawks, and God knows they can definitely use some help at halfback. It would be great if Gang Green could squeeze out a third-round pick in the deal if it were to ever go down. But trading away Jones for even a fourth rounder makes sense. Jones will be 31 next week and he’s coming off a career season. He’s not going to get better and, more importantly, the Green and White have other options at running back. And finally, Jones is an unhappy camper, who wants a new contract even though he has two years remaining in his current agreement. It’s funny how he wants more money after a stellar 2008. I didn’t hear him offering the team a refund after a lousy 2007. To contact Ralph Mancini via email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
