NFL: Finnegan Battles Hamstring Injury

CBSSports.com reports Tennessee Titans head coach Jeff Fisher said he still does not know the severity of CB Cortland Finnegan‘s (hamstring) injury. Finnegan has not been ruled out for the team's Week 4 game.

Mancini’s Take: Holy hijinx, Batman! Except this in no joke. The Titans can ill-afford another injury to their secondary, especially after nickel man Vincent Fuller went down with a broken arm that will keep him out of service for at least a month. Missing Finnegan might force Tennessee to start pounding the pavement for help. In fact, Roderick Hood has already been brought in for a workout. Going into the Jets game, the Black and Blue ranked last in defending the pass. But, that’s not what lost them the contest (see Mouton, Ryan). Their secondary is a physical, ball-hawking group, but if Finnegan’s out, all bets are off. The all-world corner sets the tone for the entire defense with his fearlessness and aggressive play. He’s also a very bright player that can read a quarterback’s mind.
