In a phone call this evening, Syracuse defensive tackle Arthur Jones informed the NFL Draft Bible that he will not be participating in any drills at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Jones, who declares he is 100 percent healthy and has been able to do all the drills in training, has been advised by his doctors and trainers to wait before performing for NFL teams.  The Big East product also plans to skip Syracuse’s Pro Day on March 4 and will instead conduct his own Pro Day on April 6, also at Syracuse.

Jones missed the final three games of his senior season because of a knee injury, which required minor surgery (scope).  He accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl back in November, but did not participate, again on the advice of doctors and trainers.  The former Orange wanted to play, but was advised not to risk re-aggravating the injury.
