| Appearing on ESPN's First Take this morning, Chad Ochcocinco stated that his Bengals would win 12 games this season.

| On last night's episode of the excellent Hard Knocks on HBO, the Cincinnati Bengals coaching staff was quite clear in stating that rookie Rey Maualuga would start at linebacker for the "betterment of the team."

| James Walker, of ESPN.com, reports Cincinnati Bengals QB Carson Palmer (ankle) will not play in the team's preseason game Thursday, Aug. 27, and could be held out of the rest of the preseason. His availability for the final preseason game will depend on how his ankle responds before the game, although the Bengals expect him to be ready for Week 1.
