Newsday reported today that former New York Giants wider receiver Plaxico Burress has had his felony gun case trial pushed back yet again to September 23rd.

“In talking to Plax’s attorney, his feeling is that a trial is not going to take place until after the season,” agent Drew Rosenhaus told ESPN.

“He believes that after all these delays, again, Plax hasn’t been indicted yet, either, it’s going to be a very lengthy process to get to trial, and that will take place after the season.

With the latest news, it appears it’s when and with who, not if, Plaxico Burress will play in ’09.

Here’s a look at the odds of each team he may sign with:

The Favorite
New York Jets –
This would be Plaxico’s preference. He likes New York (still receives complimentary dinners from Super Bowl stardom) and we have seen in the past that general manager Mike Tannebaum has not been shy about rolling the dice and taking a gamble.
Odds 2:1

The Contenders
Chicago Bears – Lets face it, Burress would be a huge upgrade over any of Chicago’s current wide outs. The combination of Cutler-to-Burress could prove lethal, especially with Devin Hester in the mix.
Odds 5:1

Tampa Bay Buccaneers –
The Buccaneers have made it known they would consider welcoming Burress to their squad but lets face it, there’s not much appeal here unless Tampa offers the most money, which they are in position to do.
Odds 8:1

The Darkhorse
Baltimore Ravens – Many feel the Ravens are one good receiver away from being a legitimate Super Bowl contender. Providing quarterback Joe Flacon with a weapon such as Plax could be too tempting to pass up.
Odds 20:1
