Oregon senior running back LeGarrette Blount has been suspended for the rest of the 2009 college football campaign by the University of Oregon for his actions following the team's loss to Boise State last night.
Blount punched Boise State defensive lineman Byron Hout in the face and then continued to shout, curse and threaten fans, stadium security/staff and others on his way to the locker room.
Blount, a senior, who likely cannot transfer to another school while under suspension, rushed for 1,002 yards last season, but part of his post-game tirade was caused by the fact that he was limited to minus-five yards rushing by the Boise State defense.
He was suspended earlier this year for violating team rules, but was reinstated to the team and had called out the Boise State team, using abusive language prior to this game so the heated emotions of the game and the fact that he was singled out as the gun sounded by Hout and his teammates led to Blount reacting in a manner that has now ended his college football career and will likely have a major impact on any of his professional football aspirations.
