Wind Travels To Tampa

One third of the “Earth, Wind & Fire” combination that the Giants became famous for during their Super Bowl run two years ago has defected.

Free agent running back Derrick Ward has signed a four-year, $17 million deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which includes a $3 million guaranteed payout in the first year and a $3 million salary in year one, contingent on him passing a physical.

Expect Ward to pair with starting running back Earnest Graham to form a one and one-A type of duo in the backfield. With the departure of Warrick Dunn, Ward will also see a fair amount of passes out of the backfield.

For the New York Giants, backups Ahmad Bradshaw (Fire) and Danny Ware (Water) move up the totem pole behind Brandon Jacobs in their RBBC led attack.
