Oregon head coach Chip Kelly announced that while senior running back LeGarrette Blount has been formally suspended from the team that he will remain part of the program, will continue to practice, attend classes and receive the support of the team, staff, players and program in order to best serve the player's need for structure and guidance, but will not play in another game for the team.
Coach Kelly did state that Blount does have the option to leave the program, but was not given any indication during his meeting with him earlier today that he had any plans to transfer or remove himself from the school.
Kelly said the university has decided to let him remain on scholarship at this time.
Meanwhile, Boise State announced it will not take any actions against defensive lineman Byron Hout who appeared to have taunted Blount before being punched in the face by the Ducks running back.
